Wild Garden app terms of use
Last updated: October 25, 2026
These terms are also available in German. If you use the app in English, you conclude the contract in English and this version applies; if you use it in German, the German version applies.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
The app is provided by Wild Garden GbR, Baaderstr. 88, 80469 München, Germany, email: hi@wildgarden.io ("we").
These terms apply to your use of the app at app.wildgarden.io: to the first part without sign-up (with an anonymous account), to your account after sign-up and to the membership (section 14). How we handle your data is described in the app's privacy notice. You can view, save and print these terms at any time at app.wildgarden.io/en/nutzungsbedingungen.
2. What the app is
In an exercise of about ten minutes, you describe in your own words what a good future looks like for you. An AI asks follow-up questions and writes a short summary based only on your words. You then note an obstacle and a first step. With an account, you also get an in-depth assessment and check-ins by email after three, 30 and 90 days. The membership (section 14) adds your personal plan, a check-in after seven days, a weekly check-in, "Your path" with every week, and "Keeping at it together" (section 15). As long as we don't offer the membership, everyone with an account gets the plan and the check-ins after three, seven, 30 and 90 days.
Using the app is free. Only the membership costs money (section 14), once we offer it. It applies only if you take it out separately and expressly.
3. What the app is not
The app is not therapy and not medical or psychological treatment. It makes no diagnoses and does not replace medical, psychotherapeutic, legal or financial advice.
If you are in a very bad place or in danger, contact the emergency number 112 right away, or the crisis services the app shows you. Do not rely on the app in an emergency.
4. No promise of results
We take your goals seriously. That is exactly why we promise nothing that nobody can promise: whether and how you reach your goals depends on your work and on circumstances that neither you nor we fully control. Setbacks are part of it. The app can help you see more clearly and get started. We do not owe you any particular result.
5. AI-written text
An AI writes the follow-up questions and summaries from your words. No AI writes your assessment or your plan: the assessment is assembled from fixed, pre-reviewed text blocks and your own words, and you write your plan yourself. The AI's texts can be incomplete or misunderstand you. You can correct the summary. What you make of it is your decision.
6. Your account
1. The app is for adults aged 18 and over.
2. When you start the exercise, the app creates an anonymous account. The free contract of use under these terms is concluded when you tap "Continue" on the consent screen, where we point to these terms. If you sign up with an email link or with Google, the anonymous account becomes an account with sign-in, and the contract continues with that account.
3. Your account is for you personally. Keep access to your email or Google account secure, and tell us if you suspect misuse.
7. Fair use
Please use the app only for yourself and not to harm others. In particular, you may not:
- enter unlawful content or infringe other people's rights;
- enter sensitive data about other people beyond what you need for the exercise;
- query, scrape or overload the app by automated means;
- bypass security measures or access other people's accounts or data;
- deliberately try to make the AI produce harmful or unlawful content;
- invite people through "Keeping at it together" whom you have not asked, or misuse the feature (section 15);
- use the app commercially without our consent.
8. Your content
What you write stays yours. You grant us only the simple, non-transferable rights we need to store and process your content and show it to you. We use it for research only if you have given separate consent for that.
9. Availability and further development
We try to keep the app available at all times but cannot guarantee it, for example during maintenance or outages. We provide the updates, including security updates, needed to keep the app in conformity with the contract (Section 327f of the German Civil Code); because the app runs in your browser, you get them automatically. Beyond that, we change the app only for a valid reason, such as new features, better security, a change in the law or changed technical requirements, and only at no extra cost to you (Section 327r(1) of the German Civil Code). If such a change impairs your access to the app or its usability more than insignificantly, we tell you clearly and in good time in advance, by email or in the app. You can then end the contract free of charge within 30 days of that notice or, if the change comes later, of the change (Section 327r(2) and (3) of the German Civil Code); we refund a proportionate share of anything you have already paid for the time after that. If we shut the app down entirely, we will tell you at least six weeks in advance; if you have already paid for the time after that, we refund that share.
10. Deletion and termination
1. You can delete your account yourself in the app at any time. This ends the contract, and we delete all data as described in the privacy notice. This cannot be undone.
2. If you don't sign up, we delete the anonymous account with all its data automatically after 30 days.
3. We can terminate the contract by email with one month's notice. For good cause, in particular serious breaches of section 7, we can terminate without notice or temporarily suspend the account.
4. If you have a membership, section 14 governs cancelling it. If you delete your account, a running membership ends immediately (section 14 no. 10).
11. Liability
1. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee.
2. For simple negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation, meaning an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely. In that case, our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract.
3. Otherwise, our liability is excluded.
4. These rules also apply to our staff, representatives and vicarious agents.
5. Your statutory rights in the event of defects remain unaffected.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms where there is a valid reason, such as new features or a change in the law. We will tell you at least six weeks in advance by email or in the app. Changes that materially affect your rights or obligations apply only with your express consent. If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account at any time.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
German law applies. If you are a consumer, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you have your habitual residence.
We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
Right of withdrawal. As a consumer, you can withdraw from the free contract of use (section 6), as from the membership (section 14), under the withdrawal instructions in the annex. You pay nothing for the free use, so there is nothing to refund; after a withdrawal we delete your account as in section 10 no. 1. You can also do that yourself at any time.
14. Membership
1. What you get. The membership is our paid offer for people with an account. It includes your personal plan, a check-in after seven days, a weekly check-in on the weekday you choose in your account (without a choice, the weekday the membership started), "Your path" with all your check-ins, and "Keeping at it together" (section 15). Without a membership you keep your card, your assessment, the check-ins after three, 30 and 90 days, and "Your path" with those check-ins.
2. What we don't promise. With the membership we work towards your goal with you: we check in every week, you adjust your step, and you see what moves. We neither promise nor owe that you reach your goal (section 4). The membership is not therapy and not advice (section 3).
3. Formation of the contract. On the membership page you choose yearly or monthly, enter your payment details in the payment field, tick the box about starting before the withdrawal period ends (no. 8) and click "Order with obligation to pay". The price, the term and what happens afterwards are shown next to the button. Until you click, you can change your choice and your entries at any time. By clicking, you place a binding order. The contract is concluded as soon as Stripe has accepted the first payment, which usually happens at once. If Stripe declines the payment, the payment field tells you so, and no contract is concluded. We confirm the contract by email with the contract details, your request to start before the withdrawal period ends, a link to these terms, the withdrawal instructions and the model withdrawal form. The contract language is the language in which you use the app, German or English. We store your order (plan, price, time and your request to start early) and the version of these terms in force when the contract is concluded. Your account shows your membership, and Stripe's customer portal your invoices; on request, we send you the version of these terms that applied when you concluded your contract.
4. Prices. Yearly €79 for twelve months, paid in advance; monthly €12 a month, each paid in advance. All prices include statutory VAT. There is no free trial, no money-back guarantee and no reduced price. We charge the membership in euros.
5. Monthly membership. It runs for one month at a time and renews for another month unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time as of the end of the current billing month.
6. Yearly membership. It first runs for twelve months, paid in advance; you can cancel as of the end of these twelve months. 14 days before they end, we remind you by email when the year ends, what happens next, how to choose another year and how to cancel. If you don't choose another year and don't cancel, the membership then continues month to month for an indefinite period, at one twelfth of the yearly price (€6.58 a month), and you can cancel at any time as of the end of the current billing month. You actively choose another year in your account with the "Order another year (payment required)" button, as long as your current year has not ended; the price and start date are shown right next to it, and we confirm the order by email with the withdrawal instructions. That year is then followed by another year at the yearly price, paid in advance, and after that it continues month to month as described. You also have a 14-day right of withdrawal for this order, from the day you place it (no. 8). If you withdraw, we refund the price of the additional year in full. If the additional year has not started yet, your membership continues as if you had not ordered it; if it has already started, we don't charge you for the days up to your withdrawal, and from then on the membership continues month to month as described above unless you cancel.
7. Payment. Payment is handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, Ireland), by credit or debit card and, depending on your device, also through Apple Pay or Google Pay. The fee is due and collected at the start of each period. You change your payment method and see your invoices in Stripe's customer portal, which you reach from your account. If a payment cannot be collected, Stripe sends you an email and tries again several times over the following two weeks. During that time your membership continues, and you can add another payment method in the customer portal. If the payment still cannot be collected in that time, the membership ends.
8. Right of withdrawal. As a consumer, you have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of the contract. You receive the withdrawal instructions and the model withdrawal form with the confirmation email (no. 3). You can withdraw via "Withdraw from contract" at the bottom of every page of the app, without signing in, or with any other unequivocal statement to us. Because the membership starts right away, before buying you expressly request that we start before the withdrawal period ends, and confirm that if you withdraw you pay a proportionate amount for the service provided until then; without this tick you cannot buy. If you withdraw, we refund what you paid minus the proportionate amount for the time you already had the membership (Section 357a(2) of the German Civil Code), within 14 days, using the method you paid with. The withdrawal instructions and the model withdrawal form are also in the annex to these terms.
9. Cancellation. You can cancel at any time via "Cancel contracts here" at the bottom of every page of the app, without signing in, or with any other statement to us, for example by email (section 1). Through "Cancel contracts here" you get an immediate confirmation on screen and by email, with the date and time of receipt. We match the cancellation by the email address you give, so give your account's email address or your contract number. An ordinary cancellation ends the membership at the end of the current period (nos. 5 and 6); until then you can use everything. Both sides' right to extraordinary termination for good cause is unaffected. We can terminate the membership with one month's notice by email, but only as of the end of a period you have already paid for, so for the yearly membership at the earliest as of the end of the paid year; until then you can use everything.
10. Deleting your account. If you delete your account, we first end a running membership immediately; no further fees fall due after that. We do not refund what you have already paid for the current period, because you are ending the membership early yourself; your right of withdrawal (no. 8) is unaffected. If you want to use the paid time, cancel instead (no. 9) and delete your account after the period ends.
15. Keeping at it together
1. As a member, you can invite one person to keep at it with you. There is only ever one open invitation or person.
2. Only invite people you have asked beforehand and who agree that we send them an invitation. You confirm this when you invite them. When you invite them, you also explicitly allow the person to see your current step (privacy notice, section 6). Give only their name and email address, and don't pretend to be someone else.
3. We send exactly one invitation. It begins only when the person accepts it by clicking the button. If they don't answer, we won't write to them again.
4. After accepting, the person sees, through a personal link, only your current step and the name you gave for yourself. Once a week, on the day you get your weekly check-in, we send them a short reminder to ask you how it is going. They never see your answers, your ratings or your progress. You decide what your step says; don't put anything in it you don't want the person to read.
5. You can withdraw the invitation and end it at any time in your account; the person can end it at any time through the link in their emails. We then delete their name and email address. If your membership ends, keeping at it together is paused: the person gets no more reminders and no longer sees your step until you are a member again.
6. You may not use the feature to harass or pressure anyone, to send advertising or to contact people without their agreement. If you do, we may block the feature for you and act under section 10 no. 3.
7. The invited person does not need an account. We conclude no contract with them, and these terms do not apply to them. By accepting, they consent to receiving the weekly reminder and seeing your step; they can end it at any time (privacy notice, section 6).
16. Your garden
1. What it is. With an account you can use the garden: planner, goals, journal and mood. It is free and part of the free contract of use (§ 2). The membership (§ 14) is not needed for it.
2. Consent. Before you keep anything in the garden, you give a separate consent (privacy notice, section 6). Without it, the garden stores nothing and sends no reminders.
3. Your content. What you keep in the garden is yours. You can export it (JSON, CSV, print view) and delete it at any time. Only upload content you are allowed to upload; we check photos and files automatically (no location data, no videos, at most 50 MB per file and 1 GB in total).
4. Reminders. We send reminders by email or push as you set them up. They say what is due; they do not ask what happened and do not change anything. We cannot guarantee that a reminder arrives at a particular time.
5. AI features. The garden's AI features are optional and switched on one by one. Their suggestions are drafts from your own entries, not advice and not a diagnosis. Use is limited per day.
6. Not a substitute for help. The garden is not a medical or therapeutic service. In a crisis, contact the services under "Help".
7. End. If you withdraw your consent or delete your account, we delete the garden (privacy notice, section 6). If we discontinue the garden, we announce it six weeks in advance so you can export.
Annex: withdrawal instructions and model withdrawal form
For the membership (section 14) and the free use (section 13). We reproduce the statutory model wording.
Withdrawal instructions
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Wild Garden GbR, Baaderstr. 88, 80469 München, Deutschland, E-Mail: hi@wildgarden.io) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or e-mail). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. You can also electronically fill in and submit the model withdrawal form or any other unequivocal statement on our website (app.wildgarden.io/en/widerrufen). If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
If you requested to begin the performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
